Travelling to University Park and Jubilee Campuses - important travel information for your visit

We’re really looking forward to welcoming you to the University of Nottingham for your Open Day. While your experience on the day won’t be affected -  all activities will be running as planned, and there’s still plenty to enjoy - we want to make you aware of some important travel information.

National Highways are currently carrying out significant roadworks around University Park Campus, which may result in diversions and delays which are likely to impact your journey.

If you're planning to travel by car, we strongly recommend using one of the local Park and Ride sites. More detailed information on the best way to travel to us can be found below.

To help ensure a smooth journey, please also:

  • Allow extra time for travel

  • Check live traffic updates before setting off

If your subject activity is taking place at Jubilee Campus, please travel to University Park Campus first. From there, you can take advantage of our free shuttle bus service to Jubilee Campus.

Transport options

By car

We strongly recommend travelling to one of the Park and Ride sites located nearby and using the tram services available to travel to University Park Campus (see Park and Ride information below). The university is easy to reach using the Nottingham Tram Network and this will help you avoid traffic congestion.

If you prefer to travel to campus by car, please allow plenty of extra time to travel as there are likely to be long queues when entering and exiting the site.

University Park Campus postcodes:

  • West Entrance: NG7 2QE
  • North Entrance: NG7 2QB - if you're coming from J25 or approaching from the west, please use North entrance. Please note that some sat nav systems may incorrectly indicate that this entrance is closed - it remains open and accessible. Important: Please avoid using the postcode NG7 2RD, as it will direct you to the wrong location.

Sutton Bonington Campus postcode: LE12 5RD

These postcodes are not the end destination, they are intended to direct you to the entrances of our campus. When you arrive, you will be directed to the best place to park by a member of staff. Parking is free on the day.

If you require Blue Badge parking, please let the parking staff know and they will direct you to an appropriate space.

If your subject activity is based on Jubilee Campus, you should drive to University Park Campus. From here, you can catch a free shuttle bus from East Drive bus bay over to Jubilee Campus. Shuttle buses will depart every 15 minutes.

  • From the University of Nottingham tram stop, it’s then a 6 minute walk to the Welcome Zone on East Drive.

From Phoenix Park you can change lines at Nottingham train station and head towards University Park (see above for details). Travel time: approximately 45 minutes

Please remember all tram travel is ‘buy before you board’. Please ensure you buy a ticket from the machine at the stop or via the NET app before getting on a tram. For more information including tickets and timetables, please visit the Nottingham Tram Network website.
