Clean Aviation projects

The Clean Aviation Joint Undertaking, the successor to the Clean Sky programmes, has the objective to integrate and demonstrate disruptive aircraft technological innovations to decrease net emissions of greenhouse gases by no less than 30% compared to 2020 state-of-the-art technology to support the European Green Deal and climate neutrality by 2050.

ORCHESTRA project

ORCHESTRA is a multi-million Euro Horizon 2020 project that combines Europe's leading expertise in Aerospace Electrification and Aircraft Systems: University of Nottingham, Leonardo, Safran Electrical & Power, Safran, C.I.R.A, Fraunhofer, Aeromechs, AIT (Austrian Institute of Technology), BSIM, Skylife Engineering, and VR Aviation Safety Partnership.

Past projects and initiatives

2ZERO project

2ZERO was a multi-million Pound Innovate UK Future Flight Challenge Fund project that used a holistic systems approach to simulate and physically demonstrate the viability of electric aircraft in regional air transport operations and the changes needed to achieve a scalable ecosystem with demonstrable economic and environmental impact.

Clean Sky Joint Technology Initiative

Our aerospace specialists helped to shape the future through the Clean Sky Joint Technology Initiative (JTI). The Clean Sky JTI was the major EU and industry funded programme to develop technologies that will reduce aircraft energy use and fly these technologies in everyday life.
