We deliver a range of courses, as shown below, targeted at postgraduate researchers throughout the year.

We also offer an events programme for all students and there will be events relevant to you and your careers research.

 
Following your workshop I applied for a job promotion. I used the tips from the workshop to write my application form and prepare for the interview - I got the job! Needless to say, the workshop was incredibly beneficial.

  • From PhD to policy and beyond: a guide to post-PhD careers

    ​In this session, you'll hear from Dr Kristen Horner, Senior Policy Officer for Music Education at Arts Council England, and soon-to-be Impact and Evaluation Officer at the University of the Arts London’s Awarding Body. Kristen completed her PhD at the University of Nottingham (2019–2023) through a Collaborative Doctoral Award with Midland4Cities, exploring how music education policy is understood and implemented at ground level.

Our specialist careers advisers, deliver presentations and workshops at specific events as part of Doctoral Training Programmes, faculty, school or departmental training programmes.
